Trip to Texas

A few weeks ago, Mom, Jessica, and I went to Texas to visit Travis, Alison, and Bode. Unfortunately, Mom could only stay for the weekend. For Travis and Alison's 5 year anniversary, they celebrated by going on a cruise. Jessica and I baby-sat Bode. That was the BEST time!! We had so much fun playing games, cars, Leggo's, play-doh, coloring with markers (of course the ones that only mark on special paper - great invention!!), read books, played on The Tubes, and just had a wonderful time.
Here are some pictures to enjoy!
When Bode put away his Leggo's, each piece must be separated. He would place some of the Leggo's under his chin so he can separate other pieces.
Bode loved The Tubes. He even had me crawling around playing with him. I had a blast!
Bode even found a new friend. She telling her Mom "she won't come with me." Her Mom tried to tell her not everyone is a "she."
Aunt Ca and Bode coloring. I think this was a time when Bode took away a marker Jessica was using. She would say "Bode, I was using that!" I tried to tell her they were his markers. haha
Aunt Ca and Bode relaxing after a long afternoon. :)
Bode LOVED this toy. He did not want to leave when it was time. :)
Bode loves storytime. If you're willing, he will have you reading books, books, and books. I loved storytime with Bode.

Good Weekend

This has been a very nice weekend. Mom and Jessica came over to help me take down my Christmas decorations, then I cleaned my house, then got ready for my work Holiday party at my boss,Stacy's house. The party was a lot of fun! Just about everyone was there and we had a great time talking, laughing, and enjoying good food! I made chicken alfredo with broccoli - can you say De-licious!? We had a bowling Wii challenge and I won. Yep that's right, I kicked some butt! Well, not really, but I still won! :) After everyone left, I hung out with Stacy to help her clean up and we had a great talk. Her daughter (Alli) is the cutest little girl! She and I were joking around having fun. She asked Stacy if she could show me her report card. (So cute!) Alli's a smart little girl! She loves to read, dance, and she has a heart of gold! She wrote me a note as I was talking to Stacy. This is what she said: "Kim, I think you are sooo cool. You are the best! Love, Alli" That seriously made my week!
Before the party, I asked Stacy if it would be okay to have the Dallas Cowboys game playing in the background. Thank goodness her husband is a fan! So we watched the Cowboys beat the Eagles (once again!) 34-14!!
GOO COWBOYS!! :)

WOOHOO!!! Dallas killed the Eagles today with a score of 24-0. This is the only time the Cowboys had a shut out twice in a row. Awesome game!! Next week, they play the Eagles again in the playoffs.

Vidamency??

Jessica and I were driving home a few weeks ago and she had craving for Jamba Juice. Because Jessica can't walk, I went in to get the drink for her. When I got inside, I called her on my cell to tell her the menu and see what she wanted to drink. She chose the Mango-A-Go-Go. The cashier asked me if she wanted a "power boost." What I heard Jessica ask for is "vidamency." The cashier asked me "what?" I said she wants "vidamency?" (Never heard of that before, but she likes Jamba Juice - I don't really like it. I figured she knows what they serve.) I kept asking Jessica "you want 'vidamency'???" She said, "YES!" The cashier gave me a confused look and shaking his head "no".... So I told Jessica, "they don't have 'vidamency'." To which she said "NO!!! VIT-A-MIN C!"
Thanks to the cell phone reception, the cashier thought I was an idiot. Oh, and they didn't even have Vitamin C ... only Daily Vitamins.
We laughed alllll the way home with her Mango-A-Go-Go and no vidamency or Vitamin C. :)

Sick for Christmas???

This was NOT on the list! For the past few years, I've been getting sick during the Holidays. Why at this time? This is my favorite time of year and I'm stuck at home with gatorade, kleenex, sudafed, and alka-seltzer plus (orange flavor only) on the couch with me.

Merry Christmas to me... :(

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I want to take this opportunity and tell you all what I am thankful for:
  1. My family. I adore each and every one of you. Thank you for the impact you have made in my life. My parents are the best - I couldn't ask for anything better! My sister, brother, and sister-in-law ... what can I say! We know how to cheer each other up, we know how to laugh with (and at) each other, and we always have each others' backs! And finally Bode, my sweet nephew. He is truly the light of my life and has brought me so much joy!
  2. The gospel. I don't know where my life would be if I didn't have the gospel in my life; and I'd rather not find out! I love reading the scriptures. I know with all my heart the Book of Mormon is true. I'm grateful for the Plan of Salvation. I'm grateful for eternal families. I'm grateful for all the blessings I have been given and the love I feel everyday from my Heavenly Father.
  3. My friends. Grateful for the friends I have and the great times we have together! Thank you for always being there for me.
  4. My work. I do love my job. At times, it can be challenging and tiresome. But I'm grateful to work for a company that values its employees and has helped me grow both professionally and personally.
  5. My education. I am grateful for the opportunity to gain an education. I have been going at it for many, many years, but knowledge is so important. It's the one thing no one can take away from you. (Graduation day: November 22, 2010!!!)

Wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!! :)

Hello, hello!!!

Ok, so I have been the WORST blogger in the world. I have not posted anything in ....... well, I'm sure you know.

Life has been crazy busy for me! I bought my first home on July 21st (day after my birthday - most expensive birthday gift I'll ever buy myself - haha). The day I got the call, I was at Home Depot with family shopping for ceiling fans. haha Guess I just couldn't wait! My family was so great with their encouraging words and being patient with me as I was stressing through the whole crazy process. My home is in Queen Creek about 10 minutes away from my Momma and sister. Love Queen Creek and love staying close to my family. :)

I enjoyed my first Halloween at my home with all the adorable trick-or-treaters. My favorite was the oh so cute 3yr old Snow White. She was all dressed up with her hair done and make-up. She broke my heart when she said "twick or tweat" with a huge grin. I almost gave her the rest of the candy! lol

I started school at University of Phoenix online ... sometime ago. I think this is my 4th class there. I do enjoy it (at times) because it allows me to be flexible. Which can be a bad thing too. But, I've improved not being a procrastinator ... a little. The only thing I don't like about the school is all the group work. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy working with people. But, some people need to be micro-managed and I don't work well with that. I thought we were all adults and responsible?? Guess not! I'm glad I started at University of Phoenix and can't wait for November 22, 2010 - graduation day!! :)

Keep checking back and I'll work harder to post more often. :)
